Cynthia Luján is a muralist + teaching artist who lives in Unincorporated City of Los Angeles, starting in late 2025 moved into a studio located in Downtown Los Angeles in the Fashion District. She is a CSULB alumni with extensive project history working regionally in Southern California with collaborating community leaders and governing agencies. Luján grew up in the City of Norwalk where she has now taught fine arts for 10 years to her elders.
Luján’s artwork centers around mobility justice fostering dialogue that deepens belonging within urban communities to create inclusive, safe, and more accessible public spaces. Most notable is a recently exhibited and ongoing series titled Our Spaces, celebrations of active transportation centering the joy that empowers folks to travel through their neighborhoods in varying mobilities across Southern CA.
Luján’s immediate goal is to secure grants and fellowships to further research urbanites in shared public spaces. Lujan’s current focus is on regional mural projects, participatory workshops, nomadic demonstrations, and artist residencies to collaborate with other artists and community members in creating hyperlocal community projects.
